Naga Beaded Set This richly colored, multistrand beaded necklace and belt set would adorn a traditional Konyak Naga woman for ceremonial occasions. The Naga live in remote hills in Northeast India and were renown as fierce warriors in the past. Today the bold design and powerful use of color found in their traditional jewelry is highly desirable to collectors of personal adornment, bead art and ethnographic material. The necklace is thirteen strands wide (4.5 in.) and measures 21 in. long. The belt is 18 strands wide (5.5 in.) and 34 in. long. It is in very good condition and is late 20th C. SOLD
