    1. Silver Bowl. A skilled silversmith in Burma made this beautifully embossed and engraved bowl. The small tableaus that encircle it represent episodes from Jataka tales, or previous lives of the Buddha.
    2. Serengi. This beautiful artifact is referred to by a generic name for stringed instruments, sarangi or serengi, in the middle to lower hills of Nepal, where it is traditionally found. It is an antique form of the four stringed lute still played by wandering musicians throughout Nepal.
    3. Tibetan Box. This whimsical rectangular lidded box comes from Tibet. It was formed of wood and surfaced with a woven fiber, which was then coated with many layers of a lac-like substance.
    4. Tamang Shaman's Drum. This handsome drum was an important ritual object used by a Tamang tribal shaman in the Middle Hills region of the Himalayas in Nepal. Known as a dhyangro, this drum was used in healings and exorcisms by the jhankri or village shaman.
