Monoprints or Monotypes are a form of printmaking that creates only one image. Water soluable inks are rolled onto a plexiglass plate with breyers or other tools to create the composition and can be manipulated to achieve interesting results. Printmaking paper is soaked in cold water and then blotted and places over the inked plate. Paper and plate are sandwiched between felted wool blankets and run through a heavy metal press to embed the image onto the paper.
