Watercolor is a medium that delights and disheartens. The simplicity of colorful pigment suspended in water and brushed across paper of various textures can be sublime. Controlling this emotionally charged element however, can be somewhat akin to herding cats, with washes pooling, edges blurring, colors mixing to mud. There is little margin for error; once laid on the paper it is part of the piece, for the most part.

I love its immediacy and the risk taking involved. I love the magic that happens in the accidents when the brush was too loaded or the paper too wet or too dry... It is an adventure everyone should take to rekindle the spirit of the fearless child within,that could once create the world... and to develop humility!
